About RBC Daniels:

Q1: Does RBC Daniels do consulting work?

A1: No. We provide mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance and financial advisory services. Our fees are primarily based on the successful outcome of an engagement. For example, if we represent a company that's merging with another, most of our fee will be owed upon the successful completion of that transaction. Or, if we assist a firm by raising equity or debt capital, we receive our success fee once our client has obtained the funding.

In addition, we also provide financial advisory assistance. In these engagements, we are paid a fee to assemble facts, assist with business plans and financial models, outline various options, offer concise recommendations and use our worldwide contacts and expertise to help clients execute financial strategies. We also provide fairness opinions, solvency opinions, valuations, due-diligence reports and analyses of strategic-alliance formations and new-venture opportunities.

Q2: Does RBC Daniels specialize in assisting companies of certain sizes?

A2: While RBC Daniels is well-known for its track record in handling large, complex mergers & acquisitions, we also provide financial services to medium-sized and smaller companies, as well as entrepreneurs who are seeking to make their mark.

Q3: Does RBC Daniels limit its services to specific regions?

A3: While RBC Daniels primarily serves U.S. clients, we also serve selected international markets, including Asia and Europe. RBC Daniels helps clients with expansion into these markets, and our international specialists also help clients in those regions with the development of their businesses.

Q4: How do you describe the corporate culture at RBC Daniels?

A4: RBC Daniels was founded in 1958 by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels. His traditional values and commitment to excellence in all areas of business, industry and community service have left a profound impact on our corporate culture. One word best describes our culture integrity. RBC Daniels maintains a code-of-conduct requiring our employees to ensure the highest standards of honesty, personal conduct and ethical business principles. Guests to our offices in Denver and New York will notice that many RBC Daniels professionals are not at their desks. That's because they travel regularly throughout the United States and world markets to conduct business on behalf of our clients and the industries we serve. Nonetheless, guests will notice our beautiful offices, our informal atmosphere and our widespread use of the state-of-the-art technology.

Q5: On what industry sectors does RBC Daniels focus?

A5: Currently we specialize in Cable Television, cellular, fixed wireless, information technologies, Internet content, Internet services & hosting, out-of-home advertising, paging, personal communications services, radio, satellite, specialized mobile radio, telephony, television, towers, wireless cable, wireless local loop and wireless resellers. However, as the media, Internet and telecommunications industries change, so does our focus of attention.

Q6: Who are your clients?

A6: Our ability to assemble integrated service teams enables us to provide remarkable service to some of the communications industry's largest corporations. We have done business with companies like American Tower, AT&T, Charter Communications, Centennial Cellular, Cingular Wireless, Cox Communications, Dobson Communications, Level3, Magic Media, Qwest, SBC, Sprint, Time Warner Cable and Verio, to name only a few. While we are honored to have assisted so many major companies, we highly value our relationships with all clients regardless of their size or geographic location.

Recruiting:

Q1: What are the education and job-experience requirements for producer or financial associate positions at RBC Daniels?

A1: Generally, the minimum qualifications for becoming a RBC Daniels producer are three or more years of work experience with a major financial institution or equivalent background, and an MBA degree is preferred. Occasionally, we'll hire someone for a financial associate position who has recently earned an MBA degree or equivalent, and has had some work experience, such as an internship or employment while completing their graduate studies.

Q2: Do you recruit new employees?

A2: No, we don't have a regular recruiting program. Because the firm has about 45 employees and turnover is rare, we don't find it necessary to actively recruit new employees. When a position becomes available, we network with major universities and business institutions to evaluate qualified candidates.

Q3: To whom should I send my resume?

A3: All employment applications are handled through our parent company, RBC. To view available opportunities or submit a résumé, please visit the following web site https://careers.peopleclick.com/client40_RBC/ext_en/ola/welcome.xml

Q4: Do you have a summer internship program?

A4: We have no formal internship program. However, we occasionally hire summer interns to assist us with special projects. If you're interested in becoming a summer intern, please e-mail your resume to Bill Fowler. He'll review it with various group leaders and reply to you.
