Open Range Raises $374 Million
Open Range Communications has raised $107 million in equity from One Equity Partners and Globalstar, Inc. and $267 million in debt financing from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development Utilities Program. RBC Daniels acted as lead financial advisor to Open Range.
RBC Daniels Advises Hargray Communications and Quadrangle
Hargray Communications Group, a 400-employee private wireline, broadband and wireless telecommunications provider serving southeastern South Carolina and northeastern Georgia, has been acquired by Quadrangle Capital Partners. RBC Daniels represented Quadrangle in the transaction and RBC Capital Markets arranged the equity and debt financing to support the transaction. RBC Daniels subsequently represented Hargray on the sale of its wireless assets to Cricket Communications and the sale of 26 communication tower sites to Global Tower Partners.
RBC Daniels Advises Alltel in Divestiture Transactions
RBC Daniels advised Alltel in three separate divestiture transactions related to its merger with Western Wireless and one transaction related to its acquisition of Midwest Wireless. Alltel exchanged 15 cellular RSAs covering approximately 1,400,000 POPs in Kansas and Nebraska with U.S. Cellular for two Idaho RSAs and cash. Alltel sold the Cellular One brand to Dobson Cellular Systems. Alltel has also sold the MN-7, 8, 9 & 10 RSAs to Rural Cellular Corporation and AR-11 RSA to Cingular Wireless.
PrairieWave Merges with Knology
PrairieWave Holdings has merged with Knology. PrairieWave provides voice, video and high-speed Internet broadband services representing over 156,000 RGUs in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. RBC Daniels represented PrairieWave.
RBC Daniels Represents AT&T in Tower Sales
AT&T Inc. sold 549 communications tower sites and related assets to Global Tower Partners . In a separate, fully marketed transaction, AT&T sold an additional 235 towers to Global Tower Partners. RBC Daniels acted as exclusive financial advisor to AT&T in both transactions.
